kinda long day
went to one of my colleague's wedding last night.
b4 that went to do my nails n trim my hair... in a super rush... coz i was supposed to go for my manicure @ 3pm. den 2.50 still at home talking to mama on the phone. apparently, my bro n her had an agruement the night b4. n i was the middle person trying to resolve it. i dun ever wanna get involved in another 'middle-man' situation. den 3.10 still at home trying to do the finishing touches on my make-up. finally, got out of the house n walked across the str for my manicure.. though it was super quiet it was taking ages for the manicurist to get started. 1stly, i couldnt decide on e colour, coz i needed something to match the clothes i was wearing the my pedicure which i did last week. den no choice, choose the same colour lo.. confirm wun go wrong 1. after finishing, i feel like a high-maintainance woman, coz the nail colour is sooooooo rich. its a shiny shiny brown. super nice. nv tried brown on my nails b4. n now they r matching. heh! my manicurist is super nice lady, when i was trying to blow dry my nails she offered me a slice of cake?! i mean she's nice coz i was actually kinda hungry but i couldnt eat with my hands n risk destroying the nail colour right?!
anyway by the time i was done, its was 4.15pm n i had an appt at 4.30 with my hairdresser @ orchard. how could i appear in orchard w/i 15 mins when i was still in clementi?
1. to drive myself
2. to take a cab
3. hack the appt time
well, firstly, i DUN own a car, secondly, i didnt have excess cash for a car n cab fare.. so hack the appointment time la...
but when i got to the hairdresser's super pai say coz i was 3/4 an hour late!! but super lucky she juz finished cutting hair for another customer n she quickly applied the treatment cream n cut my hair for me! hehe so much for going back to her most of the time. she's a super nice lady, always ask how i've been lately. the modern modern kind. den she see me dress so nice ask if i was going out n attempted to curl my hair, do something alittle different.
by the time i was done i was all set to see the world! hmm... it seems like a super long time ago since i purposely dress up for a special occassion. i think even on my birthday this yr i didnt even do that. next yr, i make sure i do something super nice also.. den muz take plenty plenty of pictures.
anyway, the highlight..
the wedding was held @ grand corporthorne waterfront hotel. that place is gorgeous!! super beautiful especially when they unleashed the garden behing the 'stage' den the lighting kept changing super super romantic... although they didnt have any interesting programs planned, the ambience is good. the 1st few dishes also delicious n honestly, its the 1st time that i tasted food in the ball room that is warm! i always had the dish turned cold b4 it was served.
1. cold appetiser
like what it desrcbed -- cold
personally, i'm NOT a fan of cold dishes. but still a fresh start for dinner.
2. shark fin's soup
hmmm.. this is good, i actually had the nerve to ask for a 2nd bowl!
3. roast chicken
i didnt even touch this. it looked dry n unappealing to me. pls remind me that DUN put this dish in the menu if i ever throw such a dinner
4. drunken prawns
like the description, its realli drunken n the most surprising thing to me is that the shells r actaully peeled! omg, n it can taste sooooooo fresh!! i luv this dish the best!
5. veegie - mushroom n green-leaves
fortunately, they didnt serve brocooli or i probably would have died! n can u believe it the veggie was still kinda warm when i put it into my mouth
6. steamed fish
i got this dislike for steamed fish, i always think that they r all not fresh n reek of the fishy smell.. though this fish didnt have a fishy smell but it didnt taste good @ all.. basically, no taste la.
7. fried udon
this looks okay on the outlook but to me, it didnt have any appealing taste in the mouth. i left most of the noodles untouched.
8. red bean soup
supposedly to be 'tian tian mi mi'. still ok sweetness but super watery. like not enough to go around n dilute with hot water. too bad..
but overall, the service not bad, juz that the waiters got a funny thing. they like to go to ya hear n stand v close to ask if u wan any drinks! weird. but whatever...
